What to say to a client who wants to go redOct 10, 2023
Going red can be a huge commitment and sometimes clients just don’t know what it really requires. So it’s our job to tell them!
Here's what I would say to a client who wants to go red:
"I love this look! Before we get started I want to discuss the maintenance that will be required to maintain this color. In order for the color to stay bright and vibrant I'll want to see you back every 4-6 weeks for a gloss. Your at home care will be crucial to preventing the color from fading."
"I also want to mention that when you're ready to go lighter again and make the change from red to blonde, it will be a lengthy process and there will inevitably be warmth along the way. There is no quick fix for lightening through red. I wanted to be up front about this so there are no surprises in the future. Does this sound like something you're comfortable with?"
I am always really up front about what it will look like when they are ready to make the switch from red to something lighter before we even begin the process of red so they can make an informed decision on whether or not it’s the best move for them!
